We woke up nice and early on this hot and sunny Thursday morning and took a shuttle bus from our hostel to Vatican City. Upon entering, we saw a long line up, about a two hour wait. We were approached by a tour guide and we decided to pay the unfortunately expensive price to skip the line and have a guided tour through the Vatican museum and sisteen chapel. The museum was spectacular. No words can describe how beautiful everything was not to mention Michael Angelo's Sisteen chapel. We were speechless and taken aback by this work of art and how detailed it all was. It told a story and each image stood out in its own unique way. Though we weren't allowed to take any pictures once inside, we just sat there staring in awe trying to take in as much as we could in the time that we had. Once we finally built up the perseverance to leave, we visited St. Peter's basilica located nearby the chapel. This was another work of brilliance that we were lucky enough to see. Soon after seeing the basilica, we headed home and spent the rest of the evening at the pool in our hostel.
