Our last day in Genova meant we had to take full advantage of this beautiful day. Anya and myself woke up early ready to start our morning only to realize that my right eye was very swollen. After doing a little google research, I realized I had a stye. Unable to see properly, Anya had to act as my seeing eye dog and we headed to the pharmacy right away. As soon as I applied the ointment, my eye was instantly better so we thought, why not go to Nervi beach? A rocky but scenic beach on the west coast of Italy, I laid on the rocks and avoided the water while Anya went snorkelling. Right away we noticed the mass amount of fish and sea urchins through the crystal blue water. While admiring the view, I saw Anya swimming awkwardly and couldn't help but laugh. It wasn't until she screamed "I got stung by a jelly fish" that I had a semi freak out and helped her get out of the water. The owner of the beach bar gave her some cream and we spent the next hour having a drink on the patio and laughing at our sudden misfortunes. Later that afternoon, we walked through the tiny beach town and indulged in some delicious Italian pastries and gelato. We took a bus back to our apartment and thought our evening would soon come to an end but Riccardo, our apartment landlord asked if we wanted to go for dinner and see beautiful Genova at night. We couldn't refuse his kind offer. Another flat mate joined us as well and we all went for dinner at an authentic Italian Pasta house. We then drove to a ritzy part of town and had a drink at a very popular, trendy bar called 'Miami club'. Riccardo was an amazing host and showed us all that Genova had to offer. Without him, we wouldn't have seen the hidden gems of this glorious city. Ciao Genova!
